Rapid Mobile & Tablet App Development with FlutterFlow

Mobile app development with cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Ionic are quicker than writing separate codebases for iOS and Android, but isn’t rapid development.

For a while, low-code options have been promising rapid application development, but run into problems when you want to do anything outside of the provided box. If “the cloud” is running on somebody else’s server, then “low/no-code” as running on somebody else’s code, which has its own limitations.

FlutterFlow has changed this, allowing for rapid application prototyping using a drag-and-drop editor, while providing full code capabilities under the hood. This means that basic functionality can be built in a no/low-code environment, receive end-user feedback, and then iterate with either drag-n-drop changes, or code changes (using Dart). Not only does the editing interface and existing integrations speed up development, but the quicker develop-test feedback loop improves the ability to get client feedback, resulting in an improved end-product.

FlutterFlow is part of a larger trend towards democratising technology. As low-code platforms continue to evolve, they are breaking down barriers-to-entry. FlutterFlow does this with an emphasis on ease-of-use, collaboration, and integration with other Google and third-party systems. Although there is still maintenance to keep FlutterFlow apps compliant with App Store and Play Store requirements, this is a more streamlined process especially for Google’s Play Store.
