The Company

LuminateOne is a digital solutions company with a young team and a rapidly growing client base. Our mission is to help our clients grow, streamline, and adapt to the changing times. Our team includes talented developers, analysts, marketers, and tech lovers that work creatively as a team and individually to come up with creative solutions.

Based in Matamata, our team reap the benefits of living in a small town: short commutes (many of our team walk or cycle to work), great bars & eateries within walking distance, and the friendly small-town vibe. But we also think we match the big city tech companies when it comes to our culture. We love team lunches, socials, annual ski trips, and Friday beers after work.

Being a tech company, we are quite flexible when it comes to remote working. Many of our team chose to work remotely 1-2 days from home. We are happy for you to do this, but we like our staff to come into the office at least once a week to keep the team culture strong.

We are looking for a Data Engineer with:

  • 2+ years of experience with Big Query
  • 3+ years of experience with data handling & databases
  • Some experience with scripting (i.e. Python)
  • Knowledge of how to standardise data across different business systems.
  • Communication skills, particularly for explaining technical concepts to non-technical business leaders
  • Good time management skills – you will have a level of autonomy so handling your time & schedule is a must.
  • Due to the current border restrictions, this role is currently open to anyone residing in New Zealand & Australia. Work visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have:
Experience with machine learning tools that could be applied to Big Query e.g. optimization, forecasting & anomaly detection

  • Power BI skills – for reporting & data visualization
